ACTIVITIES/PROGRAMS
Throughout the week you can choose various daily activities
located either on the ranch property or off-premises. You
can start your morning off with a pre-dawn yoga class or
an early morning run. After breafast, you can choose an
activity, such as a bike ride or a hike or you can attend
the various clinics and lectures that are scheduled throughout
the day. Not all camp is physical! In the evening, there
are activities such as nature or nutrition lectures, CPR
classes, and dance lessons.
Below are example activities that may be available throughout
the week of Camp:
RUNNING
·
Early morning runs and power walks
· Seminars on training and technique
· Workouts that include hills, intervals and repeats
· Videotape analysis
CYCLING
· Road rides for different skill and endurance levels
· Workshops on changing flat tires, shifting gears, etc.
· Seminars on training and technique
· Off-road mountain biking on ranch trails or nearby
SWIMMING
· Swim clinics for beginner
· A swim workout at Balmorhea State Park
· Videotape analysis
· Water aerobics and aqua jogging
HIKING
· 2-6 mile hikes
· Nature walks
MIND & BODY
· Yoga
· Meditation
· Pilates
· Stretching
OTHER ACTIVITIES/SPECIAL INTEREST
· A mini-triathlon
· A book review
· CPR training
· Dance lessons
· Nature lectures & nutrition/cooking classes
Early afternoon and evenings can also be spent doing things
on your own, such as visiting the McDonald Observatory,
driving to Marfa to view the "Marfa Lights," taking
a cool dip in the Balmorhea spring-fed pool or relaxing
on your porch!
